Pat’s Wood Crafts – owned by Richard and Patricia Moody – sells an array of hand-made, hand-painted lawn ornaments, bird feeders and houses, wood signs and other decorative items. They have been doing this for over 25 years, and have been at the Kinmount Farmers Market for 6 years. This started as a hobby – Patricia enjoyed making a few little things here and there for herself and family, until people encouraged her to start selling it.
They sold at various places in and around the area – craft sales and other markets, until a friend mentioned the Kinmount one. Once there, they fell in love. As Pat describes it, “Kinmount is an awesome place”. They find the people to be friendly – both the other vendors and their customers. It’s also a beautiful backdrop to set up and display their items.
They love all the products they make and can’t name a particular favorite. When showing me the products, we talked about how she believes in keeping her prices low. That is something that is important to them, and fits in with the Kinmount Farmers Market. It is rare to find such beautiful items, handmade with love for such a great price. It’s one of the reasons customers – and the other vendors keep coming back! One vendor I spoke with remarked how they can “always find something for the grand kids there!”
